5 Stars: A Must Read
The Manager’s Path is an excellent guide to how the world of Software Engineering works, whether you are in a startup, small business, or large corporation. It was recommended to be my by my good friend and colleague, Mitchell Potter, who is also an Engineering leader.
Any Engineer or Engineering student would do themselves a favor to read this book. I’ve been in all roles discussed in this book through out my career, but I did so without knowing the path. In retrospect, I can say this book really nails what the options are. If you are considering a path in Engineering, read this book.
This book has great info by the writer, Camille Fournier, and the narrator, Janet Metzger, sounds excellent at 1.25 to 1.5 speed on Audible.
